Problems using HomeLink
I don't really understand why I need HomeLink.
Well, maybe you don't need it. If you don't want to snipe
Shopgoodwill.com or a few other auction sites, there is no need for
you to worry about it. HomeLink is not needed for sniping
eBay. If you want to use Bidnapper to snipe, you will need to use
HomeLink to allow us to snipe for you from your computer.
I don't really know how
to get started using HomeLink.
Just follow these steps to install HomeLink on your
computer:
Download and install HomeLink.
You will be prompted to enter your Bidnapper login in the
Options window. Enter it, and click "Login to Bidnapper"
button. If you are not already logged into Bidnapper, this will log
you into your account and verify HomeLink has your correct
login. If it is not correct, you will get an error message.
The auction sites for which you have bidding accounts on
Bidnapper will be listed on the dropdown below your Bidnapper login.
Be sure the login for that auction site is there. If not, add it
manually.
If you don't see the auction site you want to snipe, log into
Bidnapper, then go to MY ACCOUNT>MANAGE LOGINS and add
it.
You're done! You can start adding bids to your Bidnapper account
for sniping on sites which require HomeLink.
I am getting an error message when I try to enter
a bid.
Be sure we have your correct bidding account login on Bidnapper.
Log into Bidnapper, go to MY ACCOUNT>MANAGE LOGINS and
either add or update your login. Also, RIGHT click on the HomeLink
icon down on your tooltray and select OPTIONS. Your Bidnapper login
should appear at the top, and your auction site login should appear
below it. If either logins are not there, add them.
I am able to enter my bids, but Bidnapper doesn't
seem to submit them.
HomeLink may not have your correct Bidnapper login. Find
the HomeLink icon in the tooltray at the bottoom of your
computer screen, down in the lower right corner by the clock. It is a
sniper's crosshairs. If you double click the icon, it should open a
tab on your browser and log you into your Bidnapper account. Or,
RIGHT click on the icon and select OPTIONS. Your Bidnapper login
should appear in the top two fields. If it doesn't appear there, add
it. Click the "Login to Bidnapper" button. If HomeLink
is unable to log into Bidnapper you will get an error message, and
the login you have on HomeLink will need to be updated.
Whenever Bidnapper submits a bid using HomeLink,
I get a PASSWORD response.
You must have downloaded and installed HomeLink onto your
computer, and it must be running at the time of your bid. Find the
HomeLink icon on the tooltray at the bottom of your
computer's screen. It is down in the lower right side near the clock.
You will know HomeLink is working if you see it make a
little move once a minute. Home Link must be running and your
computer must be on and online, not in hibernate, when it is time for
our system to trigger the bid from your computer. If the icon is
not making a move once a minute, the HomeLink app may have gotten
corrupted. Download and install it again.
